2002 Champions: South Africa
South Africa won the COSAFA Castle Cup for the first time on a 4-1 aggregate
score.
The COSAFA Castle Cup is the most lucrative regional cup on the continent offering R550
000 for the winner.
This, the sixth tournament, equalled the highest ever total of 11 participant
countries. Seychelles, the 13th member country, is not included in the draw for the 2002
competition for unknown reasons. Last year Seychelles pulled out for financial reasons.
