2000 Champion: Uganda A (Uganda Cranes)

The Uganda senior national team won the 24th edition of the CECAFA Cup held in Kampala, Uganda.

This year saw only nine participant teams including two from hosts Uganda, Uganda A (the senior Uganda Cranes) and Uganda B (the Uganda Lions).

The 2001 Senior Challenge Cup will be hosted by Rwanda from December 8-22. Competing teams are Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Burundi, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea and two teams from Rwanda.
