The 29th African Cup Winners' Cup 2003

2003 Champions - Étoile Sahel (Tunisia)

In dramatic fashion Étoile Sahel came back from a 2-0 first leg deficit to beat Julius Berger 3-0 in the home leg and capture the final edition of the African Cup Winners' Cup (aka The Mandela Cup).

The Cup was a knock-out two -egged tie competition for the winners of the foremost cup competition in each CAF affiliated nation.

The original trophy, the Abdelaziz Mostafa Cup, was awarded permanently to Al Ahly after their third consecutive win in 1986. The subsequent trophy was named after Nelson Mandela.

This is last edition of this tournament as it merges with the CAF Cup to form the Confederation Cup starting in 2004.
