An inexperienced South African "B" team lost 3-2 to Bosnia and 2-0 to Oman in an LG-sponsored Four-Nations tournament August 8-10. The tournament was won by hosts Iran.

The bulk of the players are relative unknowns and were hastily assembled following the withdrawal of Cameroon at the 11th hour.
