| South Africa lost 1-0 to Lesotho in Maseru on March 13 2001
with goalkeeper substitute Rowen Fernandez conceding a goal to Hlojeng in the 81st minute. The match was initially recorded as an 'A' Friendly only for coach Carlos Quieroz to declare it a 'training match' a day or so later. FIFA lists this match as an 'A' Friendly but because of newspaper reports consistently declaring it a 'training match' with no caps awarded, we have decided to comply by deleting the match and adjusting the players' cap statistics on all relevant pages.
